Georgina Rodriguez has shared her pride on social media after Cristiano Ronaldo’s son, Cristiano Jr, added another international trophy to his growing football résumé.

Cristiano Jr, 15, featured for Portugal’s under-16 side in their 2-1 win over England in the Football Federations Cup final on Wednesday. The teenager came off the bench to help secure the victory, having already impressed throughout the tournament. He made his debut against hosts Turkey last week, before scoring his first goal for the U16s in a 3-0 triumph over Wales during the group stage. The forward was played through on goal and finished calmly to open his account at youth international level.

Rodriguez, who became engaged to Cristiano Ronaldo in August, was in the stands and captured embracing Cristiano Jr after the final whistle. She later posted photos from the celebrations, including shots with the trophy and family, writing: “I love being a mom. I am very proud of my big boy.”

Portugal’s victory was driven by a brace from Braga academy prospect Rafael Cabral, whose goals proved decisive against England. The win marks the second piece of silverware Cristiano Jr has collected for Portugal’s youth teams this year. In May, he scored twice in the final as the U15s claimed the Vlatko Markovic International Tournament.

Cristiano Jr is currently part of the youth structure at Al-Nassr, where his father continues to perform at senior level in the Saudi Pro League. The youngster has also trained within the academies of Real Madrid and Juventus during Ronaldo’s spells at both clubs.

As for Ronaldo, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has hinted that retirement may be approaching “soon” after a decades-long career that has defined an era of world football.
