Georgina Rodriguez has lifted the curtain on her long-term relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo, offering a rare glimpse into the couple’s private life and their recent engagement. The pair, who have been together for ten years, became officially engaged in August after Ronaldo proposed with what is believed to be a £3.7 million ring.
Speaking to Elle Spain, the 31-year-old influencer admitted she had been waiting for the moment for a decade and joked that the lavish ring was the least Ronaldo could do. “It’s gorgeous. It’s the least he could offer me after ten years of waiting,” she said. “The truth is, when he proposed, it was the last thing on my mind. It took me a long time to process the enormous stone he gave me. I was so shocked that I left it in my room and didn’t open it in the sunlight until the next day.”
Rodriguez and Ronaldo share two children together: Alana, eight, and Bella, four. Rodriguez has also been a central figure in raising Ronaldo’s older children, including Cristiano Jr, 15, and twins Mateo and Eva, eight, forming a blended family of five.
Reflecting on the beginning of their relationship, Rodriguez revealed that her connection with Ronaldo went well beyond physical attraction. “I felt a connection that went far beyond the physical,” she said. “I can’t say I foresaw my destiny, or that I knew ten years later we’d have five children, but I did experience an inexplicable feeling. It was as if our souls spoke to each other before our eyes even met. Something inside me recognised something inside him, and from that very moment I knew that this connection was completely different and unique.”
Ronaldo himself spoke about the proposal during a recent conversation with Piers Morgan. He explained that Rodriguez had always dreamed of a special ring and that the couple’s daughters helped encourage the moment. “Gio asked me for a ring to offer her. It was her dream to have a good stone and finally I find one, she loves it,” he said. “My friend gave me the ring to offer Gio, and my two girls come in and say, ‘You are going to give the ring to Mummy and you are going to be married’. And I knew it was right. I said yes, now is the time, because of my daughters.”
With wedding plans now expected to progress, the couple’s decade-long love story continues to draw widespread public fascination, blending global superstardom with personal devotion.
