Toni Kroos has selected ‘perfectionist’ Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of Lionel Messi as the greatest player of all time.
Ronaldo and Messi’s never-ending feud continues to produce mixed effects. Many of football’s top stars have spoken out, but there has yet to be a clear solution.
Kroos, who spent four years at Real Madrid alongside Ronaldo and numerous times in La Liga against Messi, has now given his GOAT judgement.
On the Einfach mal luppen podcast, the German told his brother Felix, “It’s Cristiano Ronaldo [greatest player of all time] from my playing days.”
“Of course, I’m partial because he was instrumental in our winning so many championships. Playing with Ronaldo was thrilling and spectacular.
“Not only were we teammates, but we were also neighbours in the locker room and in private. He lived directly across the street from me. It was impressive to see how meticulous he is. That is why I am not allowed to call Messi [the greatest player of all time].”
Between 2016 and 2018, Kroos won the Champions League three times alongside Ronaldo at Real Madrid. They won the Spanish Super Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, La Liga, and the FIFA Club World Cup as well.
