Cristiano Ronaldo scored 60 goals in 2011, his greatest year in terms of goals in a calendar year at that point, after failing to reach the 50-goal mark with Manchester United.
With 40 goals in the 2010-11 La Liga season, he also earned the first Pichichi trophy of his career and the second European Golden Shoe award of his career.
In 2011, he also won the Copa del Rey, Spain’s first major championship. He also scored seven goals in eight appearances for Portugal, which was the highest total for the national team in a year until that point.

In 2013, Cristiano Ronaldo had his finest year in a calendar year. Unfortunately, despite all of his goal-scoring prowess, the Portuguese forward did not win a single trophy.
It was also the first calendar year in which he scored ten goals for Portugal, the majority of which came during the 2014 World Cup qualification campaign.
In addition, he had 11 assists in the Spanish top division that year, as well as 15 goals in the Champions League. That year, he won the Ballon d’Or, one of the few times a player has won the trophy after a trophyless calendar year.
