After Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice against Switzerland on Sunday, Portugal boss Fernando Santos declared him the finest player in the world.
The two teams met in the UEFA Nations League this past weekend, with hosts Portugal easily winning 4-0.
Ronaldo had a hand in the game’s first goal when Gregor Kobel mishandled his freekick. A tap-in was scored by William Carvalho.
The 37-year-old then demonstrated his exceptional finishing skills by getting on the end of a brilliant Diogo Jota ball to score his first goal of the game.
For the second goal, he used his box position and predatory instincts to score off a rebound after Jota’s attempt was stopped by Kobel.
When questioned about Ronaldo by SportTV after the game (h/t OJogo), Santos said:
“What else is there to say? He is the world’s top player. Everything has been spoken.”
