The Brazilian is widely regarded as one of the greatest football players ever to take the field. He famously spent a season with Barcelona before moving on to Real Madrid later in his career. Ronaldo never won the Champions League, but he was a member of World Cup-winning Brazil squad.
When asked who he thought were the best players of all time, Ronaldo reduced it down to four. He stated,
“For me, in the classification of the best in history, the four names would be Pele, Maradona, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. They are the top four in the history of football.”
The Brazilian had more praise for Cristiano Ronaldo as he said,
“Cristiano will remain in football history for the goals and for the continuity he has achieved. He will remain one of the best.”
In the last two decades, Cristiano Ronaldo has done more than enough to earn a spot on the Brazilian’s list. Other football legends that could have made the list include Johan Cryuff, Ronaldinho, Zinedine Zidane, and Rivaldo, to name a few.
CR7 has achieved a level of consistency that has never been seen before. He has been scoring goals in enormous quantities for more than a decade and has made a mockery of the Ballon d’Or award by winning it multiple times.
I like Cristiano Ronaldo. He is a universal player and can play anywhere at any time.
