According to Fabrizio Romano, Cristiano Ronaldo is seriously considering leaving Juventus this summer, but there are no offers on the table.
The Portuguese ace remained on the bench in Juventus’ 2-2 draw with Udinese on Sunday, reigniting doubts over his future.
CR7, on the other hand, entered the game in the second half, marking his 20th professional season.
He came close to completing the comeback with an injury-time winner, but VAR ruled his header out for offside.
Ronaldo has dominated headlines once more since then. He is said to want to decide on his future before the transfer market closes on August 31, despite Juventus’ belief that he will stay.
“What we know is that it is a delicate scenario because Cristiano Ronaldo is really considering leaving Juventus this summer, in the coming days,” Fabrizio Romano told Sky Sports.
“It’s extremely difficult because, as of now, he has not gotten any correct, right bid in the last three months, and neither has Juventus. Therefore far, no clubs have approached Cristiano Ronaldo, so the situation is peaceful. He is still expecting to find a solution, but Juventus has stated that no proposals have been received and that they would rely on Ronaldo this season.
“That is why the situation is still quiet at the moment, but he was on the bench as a result of this. So, we’ll see what happens, but for the time being, Juventus is confident that Ronaldo will remain at the club.”
PSG and Real Madrid are not viable possibilities – Fabrizio Romano
Last week, Los Blancos coach Carlo Ancelotti ruled out a reunion with Ronaldo on Twitter, while Paris Saint-Germain recently announced the signing of Lionel Messi.
If Kylian Mbappe leaves, the Parisians will only be able to make a move for another forward.
“It’s a tricky issue because from Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti said no to the prospect of re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo,” Fabrizio Romano remarked when asked where CR7 could go.
“From what I’ve heard, Paris Saint-Germain isn’t considering Ronaldo as a viable alternative. They have already signed a few of players this summer and are not interested in signing Ronaldo.
“Let’s see what happens, but as I previously stated, there are currently no bids for Cristiano Ronaldo, and only something unexpected may occur if he truly leaves Juventus, because, as I previously stated, Juve are adamant that he will play for Juventus at the conclusion of the market.”
