Former Manchester United forward Louis Saha believes Cristiano Ronaldo will play a key role under Erik ten Hag in 2022-23.
Next season will mark the start of a new era for the Red Devils under the Dutch tactician. Ronaldo’s effect, according to Saha, will be helpful not only on the field but also off it. As United prepare for a season in the UEFA Europa League, the 37-year-old attacker might inspire struggling players like Marcus Rashford.
Cristiano Ronaldo is set to lead Manchester United’s offense next season. However, Saha identified one area where the Portuguese captain may be less effective than other players.
When asked if Ronaldo will play a “major part” next season, the Frenchman was reported by BonusCodeBets as saying:
“Definitely. Not only by scoring goals, but with his stature. I’m sure the new manager will want to implement some new rules and new standards that fit with Ronaldo. Maybe not so much on the pressing side, but his work ethic and his desire to always be accountable.”
Saha added:

Manchester United enters the Ten Hag era with one of their most disastrous seasons. Last season, the Red Devils finished sixth in the Premier League with a goal differential of zero. They also failed to win a single trophy for the fifth consecutive season.
