Serie A: Udinese 2-2 Juventus – Juve Player Ratings

Cristiano Ronaldo thought he had won the game for Juventus with a spectacular header with the score poised at 2-2 in the final minutes – but he was offside.

Ronaldo had even taken off his jersey in celebration of the game-winning goal, which he believed was a last-gasp triumph.

His joy was short-lived, however, as the VAR chalked off the goal owing to offside after only a few minutes of discussion.

Massimiliano Allegri, who will be disappointed with his decision, started the Portuguese forward on the bench and barely gave him 30 minutes or so.

Paulo Dybala scored after being set up by Rodrigo Bentancur inside the area after barely three minutes.

After latching onto a brilliant over-the-top pass from Dybala, rushing into the area, and hitting his shot into the far corner, Juan Cuadrado increased the visitors’ lead 20 minutes later.

Both of Udinese’s goals were the fault of Wojciech Szczesny.

While fluffing his lines and gifting possession to the opponents, the goalie handed away a penalty that Udinese exploited to climb back into the game, resulting in them scoring the equaliser late in the game.

Overall, Juventus put on a poor performance in their first Serie A match of the 2021-22 season.
